The majority of today’s American voters blithely follow an engrained familial political affiliation, as did previous generations. The current “weird,” devolved iteration of the GOP would likely give pause to those traditional supporters of the past. Most Republican voters, disaffected and otherwise, are good people whose legitimate opinions need to be considered. Despite our disagreement with their generally reactionary ideology, opposing ideas can lead to healthy compromise when presented respectfully by credible party representatives. In contrast, “maga” politicians are sycophants who, by cravenly accepting demented patholigical lying and sociopathy, dishonor their party and the values that our veterans fought for and which our military continues to battle to preserve.

As outlined in this previous article, the Socially Driven Music venture has prioritized the upcoming 2024 national and state elections. Socially Driven Music is fast establishing itself as an important hub for all Democratic young (and others) voter organizations that want to interact with the music community. We are propelling a new “tandem activism,” with music fans becoming super fans of their favorite music artists through an interactive relationship around shared causes that best flourish in a supportive democracy. The strategy of facilitating consistent, personal interactive music artist and fan relationships for a purpose (versus traditional single events with little or no visible follow through) is novel and can have a huge impact upon voting trends this election and beyond. Newsflash: It’s not just Gen Z who cares what celebrities have to say when it is objective, fact-based empathetic and enlightening.

It is fortuitous that the major music labels’ latest epiphany and mantra extols artists acquiring “super fans.” But this exhortation will be a meaningless pursuit without designating an inherent purpose, a reason for the relationship. Socially Driven Music provides that roadmap.

There is no limit of social impact causes to embrace, not least of which is our democracy that makes our aspirations possible. Politics will inevitably impact the success level of any social cause, and music and politics can be complementary when socially poignant music moves us and beckons to join in a call-to-action in support of whatever our chosen cause.

So, the secret sauce to acquiring super fans is a shared empathy catapulted by music, resulting in taking action together around a social cause which creates an ongoing interactive relationship between artist and fan that includes an element of direct, interpersonal communication. Of course, this recipe also includes our working with artists and songwriters to create the #Music4APurpose that fuels this objective.

Among the organizations that aggregate and help empower social impact causes and which we are inviting to join us are: Propper Daley, Do Something, Fenton, Lever for Change, and Good is the New Cool (suggest others in the Comments section). These social impact companies are some of the important conduits to those NGO’s and social good initiatives that music artists and their fans will come together around to grow and support. Socially Driven Music is the catalyst that then connects these peaceful activists to Democratic candidates around the country who appreciate the exponential power of collaborating with this socially conscious music community of shared values.

Socially Driven Music is organizing robust multiple Zoom calls with music artists (established and emerging), their fans and fan clubs to rally voters for Kamala Harris-Tim Walz and Democratic Senatorial and Congressional races specifically motivated by support for shared social impact causes that are designated as topics for that call. We are engaging with not only the large national Democratic organizations, but also state entities such as ASDC, State grassroots orgs, State Dem chairs, campaign managers, etc., and are also Headcount and Power The Polls ambassadors, the latter with which we will encourage artist poll visits. With the dynamism and bounce of the Dead Heads for Kamala Zoom as our inspiration, we are in the process of connecting with artists and causes across the country and, of course, in battleground states, as we prepare for what we expect will be several very large and newsworthy Zoom calls throughout the Fall (please offer artist suggestions in the Comments section or survey linked below).

In addition to helping bolster our chosen candidates in competitive races, we can affect other contests where craven trump sycophants arrogantly think their elections are secure (e.g., Mike Johnson, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, Steve Scalise, Lauren Boebert, Elise Stefanik, Nancy Mace, et al).

And here is a partial list of music artists in 2024 battleground states created by meta.ai to get everyone started on identifying which artists you would like to work with in supporting a cause in which you believe you share a passion with them. Socially poignant music can be a powerful way to raise awareness and effect change in diverse, troubling issues, including Democracy, Discrimination, Climate, Mental Health, Bullying, Substance Abuse, Anti-Semitism, Equality, Homelessness, Veterans, Suicide, Terrorism, Gun Control, Reproductive Rights, Food and Clean Water Insecurity, Cancer and other illnesses, Animal Rights Advocacy, Environmental Justice, Oceans, LGBTQ+ rights, etc.

Here is a list of some Democratic-aligned music artists (or their estates) from battleground states in the 2024 US election who are likely to care about the same social impact issues as you. Contact us and we’ll try to connect with your favorite artists to enable tackling these important issues together, and supported by your Democratic candidates.
